With activities, workshops, and exhibits, we encourage and welcome people of all ages who want to learn about our rich history.
Our Geoheritage Trail allows for a 1.5km walk and a chance to explore the natural environment - and maybe find some fossils!

The Geoheritage Trail
Calling all hikers, geologists, and fossil hunters!
Things to explore on our 1.5km loop Geotrail:
an exhibit of different rock types
a limestone quarry
a dug trench
a riverview walk

Advice for walking the Geoheritage Trail
Use caution — some areas are steep and may be slippy depending on the weather
Wear closed walking shoes
Consider leg protection as some wild plants may irritate
Consider weather conditions before walking the trail and dress accordingly
Stroller friendly and kid friendly
Wheelchair accessible on the railbed portion of the trail
Fossil Hunts
Interested in hunting for fossils in downtown Eganville?
Fossil Hunts run through the summer months and start at the Bonnechere Museum at 10 am.
Families with kids of all ages welcome.
